CAMPING MALTATAL

This family campground has been run by the Pirker Family for more than 50 years - in other words, this is a real family business.

The campground lies in a panoramic setting between the HOHE TAUERN National Park and the NOCKBERGE Biosphere Park, in the heart of the Malta Valley.  We are located in the Oberland region of Austria's southernmost province, Carinthia, at an elevation of 800 metres above sea level. The valley is shielded by the main Alpine ridge to the north, while being influenced by the Mediterranean climate flowing in from the south.
220 campsites are located on an area totalling 3.5 hectares - most of the80-110m² sites feature water and waste-water hook-ups, while all sites do, of course, have electric.  2 sanitation stations ensure total camping comfort.

Child-friendly amenities, activity programs aimed at kids, a big playground, open-air pool (heated) with 2 kiddie pools, riding on our own horses, tractor rides for the youngsters, horse-drawn carriage rides, ...

Shopping: Located right here on the campground is a small self-service store, while you will also find a bigger store in town.  In Gmünd, 6 km away, there are three supermarkets and numerous other shops, boutiques, etc.  The Pelt and Mineral store is also well worth a visit if you are looking for a special souvenir of your stay.Doctors and Pharmacy/Chemist's: There are three general practitioners in Gmünd, along with two dentists and a pharmacy.  If necessary, of course, the doctor will also pay you a "house" call.
