Cala Martina
It is located south of Follonica and north of Punta Ala. It is a beautiful stretch of pebble beach, reachable on foot or by bike. Less famous than the "sister" Cala Violina, but equally beautiful and fascinating. In the typical Mediterranean maquis is the monument that recalls the passage of Giuseppe Garibaldi. The beach is mostly free from bathing establishments, leaving it so uncontaminated and preserving all its beauty. Inside the pine forest there are areas used for picnics. From the Strada delle Collacchie SP158 turn for the tourist port of Puntone di Scarlino / Portiglioni, along the road for about 2 km, passing the small harbor, arriving and parking near a restaurant from whose square you can continue on the dirt road only on foot or by bike; after about 2 km we are in Cala Martina.
Cala Violina
It is located south of Follonica and north of Punta Ala, between Cala Martina and Cala Civette. One of the most spectacular bays of the Gulf of Follonica, the clear, sandy and very fine beach gives the place its name, since when we walk the sand produces a sound that reminds that of a violin. The clear and clear sea offers the tourist a marine world populated by various species of fish and algae, a sign of cleanliness and clarity. The coast is surrounded by a green landscape formed by the rich and dense Mediterranean scrub. In the hottest hours you can have a picnic or just rest this beautiful spot. The beaches are free of bathing establishments, refreshment points, in order to preserve this splendid and fascinating landscape. It is possible to find small tables equipped with fresh and well-ventilated Mediterranean vegetation.
Torremozza beach
The name of this wide beach is due to the presence of the tower, built by the Appiani family in 1500, to avoid attacks on ships in transit from the Island of Elba loaded with minerals. The peculiarity of the beach is the presence of a natural swimming pool, which slows down waves and currents.
